Essex Youthbuild is a small,  specialised organisation based in Chelmsford which has for more than 11 years been offering hands-on, practical training to young people aged 14-19  from all over Essex.

Young people are eligible to train with us if they meet the following:

  • Not in education, training or employment (NEET)

  • Have few or no formal qualifications

  • Have a history of offending or are at risk of offending

  • Are or have been looked after

  • Have not been able to get into or sustain a mainstream college place

14-16 (Key Stage 4)

Those who would benefit from a vocational element to their education, are struggling in mainstream education, are at risk of being permanently excluded and those already permanently excluded from mainstream schools.

We deliver tailored Level 1 City and Guilds’ courses in Construction Skills and Gateway Qualifications’ Awards in Employability, Numeracy, Literacy and Online IT (taught one-to-one) .  We also offer other work related activities such as Health & Safety, First Aid training and, where possible, work experience.
